Teaching

Dr. Anderson serves as both the music program coordinator and the guitar studies coordinator for Reinhardt University's School of Performing Arts. He teaches applied lessons, weekly technique seminars, directs the guitar ensemble, and he teaches Music Theory III and IV. He also teaches Guitar Methods for the Music Ed track.

 

As a guitar instructor, Matthew has years of experience teaching a variety of styles: rock and folk techniques for both electric and steel-string guitar, introductory elements of bluegrass and jazz, and all levels of classical guitar. He has 18 years of pedagogical experience.

As a clinician, Matthew Anderson has given masterclasses and workshops throughout the U.S., China, Russia, and Europe.

Dr. Anderson has also served as an adjudicator throughout the Southeast for events ranging from Middle School to Collegiate guitar events.
